Do you only hire people with comic shop experience?

Do you have fixed vacancy listings?

No. We accept CVs through the contact page and review them when we are hiring for suitable roles.

Join a South African comics team

SA Heros Comics is built around local superhero stories, collector care and practical advice. We work with people buying their first few books as well as serious collectors who need help with grading, storage and shipping. If you enjoy working with comics, collectables and people who take their collections seriously, you may fit in well here.

Our team is small enough for everyone to pitch in, but organised enough for clear roles and proper handover. We value reliability, tidy work, good communication and respect for the items people trust us with.

Good collector care starts with people who notice the small details.

Shop and art roles

Depending on business needs, we may look for people with skills in customer service, collecting, stock handling, online order processing and community support. Some roles involve speaking to customers about storage, safe shipping prep or gift selection, while others need strong admin and careful attention to condition notes.

  • Customer support for collectors and first-time buyers
  • Grading guidance and pre-submission checks
  • Collectables handling and stock organisation
  • Online orders and courier preparation
  • Community events and collector consultations

Who suits our working style

We are looking for people who can treat each comic with care, from a fresh issue to a book that needs bagging, boarding or long-term storage planning. Good habits matter here, including checking condition, keeping records tidy and speaking clearly with customers who may be comparing options or asking about grading choices.

  • Comfortable working with detailed tasks
  • Good judgement around condition and handling
  • Friendly manner with collectors and first-time buyers
  • Willingness to work in a fast-moving retail setting
  • Ability to stay organised with multiple enquiries

Apply for Comic Roles

If you would like to be considered, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and mention the type of role you are interested in. You do not need to wait for a posted vacancy list. We review suitable applications when we are hiring for the right fit.

Please include a short note about your experience with comics, collectables, customer care, courier handling or grading support. If you have worked with stock systems, shipping prep or retail administration before, include that too.

What day to day work can include

Depending on the role, your day may involve answering enquiries, preparing items for courier delivery, assisting with collection organisation or helping customers understand how to store books in South African conditions. Coastal humidity in Cape Town, heat inland and dust in some storage spaces all affect how we advise on sleeves, boards and boxes.

  • Checking items before storage or shipment
  • Preparing collections for display or safe packing
  • Supporting courier dispatch across South Africa
  • Helping customers choose practical collector supplies
  • Keeping work areas clean and sorted

Attention to detail matters more than long speeches, and yes sometimes the smallest crease can change how a book is viewed.

A workplace for people who care about the details

We support a culture of honesty, steady work and respect for collector value. A helpful attitude goes a long way here, especially when a customer needs advice on storage planning, a wishlist source or a gift that suits a specific hero collection. Our team works with local stories every day, so you need to enjoy helping people connect with that part of the market.

If this sounds like your kind of work, send your CV through the enquiry form and tell us a little about yourself. We will get back to suitable candidates when opportunities open up.
